Recital-she was FABULOUS!
This past weekend was "recital weekend". Frankie had to work for most of it so Cannon & I got the girl ready and delivered on time for rehearsal, Sat. recital, and Sunday recital. It was fun and stressful at the same time. My parents came for Saturday and then came over to the house to visit for a bit and gave me my birthday money (which I will use to put towards purchase of new tenny shoes-I desperately need new tenny shoes). On Sunday, G&G H, G'ma Rose and aunt Sara came. I wish you could all have seen the look on Jewel's face when Aunt Sara came to the dressing room with me (her attendance was a surprise!). Then G.R. had a b-day party to attend, but G&G H and aunt Sara(who is very tan and cute with her newly highlighted hair) where available to come over for cake and ice cream and stayed to visit for quite awhile; we had a wonderful time!!!! Then Frank surprisedJewel with letting her pick where she wanted to go out for eat for supper!! She picked Chips in Ankeny. We haven't eaten there in a very long time (gas prices, budget, etc). Frankie ordered a Maytag blue cheese and cream cheese dip for their home made potato chips-OH MY; it was creamy and crunchy and just a tad salty. Delightful I ate more than I should have; I'm amazed I did n't get sick. Then we all ordered entrees. We skipped dessert b/c we had cake that afternoon. Sara can attest I even ate cake! and a scoop a frozen l-fat yogurt and reduced fat chocolate caramel ice cream. ( I typically don't eat cake and try to limit myself-I'm a sugar fiend if I'm not really careful). I did have tummy troubles with my autoimmune disorder and ulcer on Saturday, but I'm certain it was nerves. On the drive home we played the A-Z pick a category game. I started A is for Apple, Frank B is for ....but then I got stuck with all the weird letters ! I need to memorize all the names of fruits & veggies that I possibly can. Then to cap off my beautiful fabulous Sunday- we watched Night at the Museum a very cute, family friendly flick. It was a wonderful, blessed Sunday. Cannon had a rough weekend b/t pre-teen stuff and his challenges, but Frank completely talked him down and took care of him on Sunday so that was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! My house is finally looking decent. Frank's uncle, brother and cousin came a few weekend ago to deliver an awesome bench we inherited and a couch, but our house was a PIT! I didn't want to make excuses, but I'd had another ovarian cyst which was very painful the 10 days prior to their delivery and we had Jewel's friend from church spending the night-so I made special treats for the girls, etc. I felt terrible! about how the house looked. My mother-in-law told me to not worry, I'd been sick and even if they didn't know that I had tried my best (but I'm still stressing over it a few weeks later-ugh!).
I have been AWFUL about returning emails, phone calls and blogging. Cannon has been struggling. My in-laws even took him one night last week b/c he was so emotional. anyway... I'm sorry for not answering emails and not blogging. Please don't think I don't appreciate the wise words of wisdom (esp. you Jeanette:) ) and prayers!!!!!!!!!
I hope you all get to get out and enjoy the glorious weather.
Smiles,
jennifer

Wow! I'm being thanked for my words of wisdom. This is the first time I've been accused of possessing wisdom. :-)
