Musings for today.. Cannon highly recommended the book Eragon. He read the first few chapters to me. He was EXTREMELY excited that Uncle Bill had also enjoyed reading the books. Cannon expressed his great excitment for book #3 in the Inheritance series. A quote from the character Brom (author is Christopher Paolini) that had me re-reading it at 11:oo P.M. and again this a.m. is, "Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe".

Today has been one of those "ah-okay days". The day started out junky, but with continued prayers got better. I'm still really emotional today-not sure why.

No major house updates yet. Jewel is completely excited to spend the night with G'ma and G'pa H tonight. She will have G'ma Kris all to herself tomorrow; she will love that. I wonder if they will wonder over to the county fair.
Cannon is making quick progress with the final H.P. book. Not as quickly as I'd have quessed, but he seems to be truly savoring the final tale. He has gasped several times while reading, but is cautious about not saying anything as Dad gets custody of the book as soon as Cannon has completed it. I am W-A-Y behind, but trying to not give up. I've completed through the 1st chapter of book 2. I pledged to wait to watch the movie for each book until after I've read the actual book. Frank thinks I should "give up" and watch the movies. Nah... I'm old school.
I've just started book 7 in the Series of Unfortunate Events books-their grand finale is book 13.
Then.. I'm reading several devotional books-making slow progress. Eragon is my fiction choice right now. My sister, who isn't much for the fiction genre loaned me a book quite some time ago with much encouragement to read-Jodi Picoult-Sister's I think is the title?
Jewel has requested I purchase the larger chapter books in the Traveling Pants, Cheetah Girls and Princess Diaries books. I'm stonewalling until she can read her Junie B. Jones books with more fluency. Aren't I hard core?
Hope there are some good, kid friendly flicks at the dollar theatre this weekend. I'm craving a movie experience.
Ah.. better finish my work. Tonight, I'm suppose to go for a nice, long walk with a friend. Sounds great-I just hope my energy increases. Been having to take my inhalers, the air is very thick. The inhalers make my heart race and seem to zap my energy level, or perhaps not having good oxygen intake is zapping my energy. Who knows? I also woke up 2 times last night-long enough to get up and watch 2 re-runs-Frasier and a Wayans brother's sitcom.
Anyhoo.. smiles to you all.
Jennifer

Not a Potter household here, but loved the movie Eragon. Sure would love that book. My littlest guy is my only reader. Mallory has difficulty and Matthew has other things to do!! He loves that movie, though. Still waiting for something to give him a love of books... or at least A book!!

Jennifer- You let Cannon read an H.P. book? H.P. Lovecraft?? ..OH- Harry Potter! OK, ok, ok.

I read Lovecraft for the first time last year, and decided maybe even I was still a little too young to be reading his stuff...scary stuff...spooky stuff...BOO!

Nope, can't say I've ever read any Harry Potter. Saw a movie once...I think :)
