VEISHA -- The weather was glorious, the kids had fun and were well behaved, we got to have Ashley for a day of fun in the sun and a sleepover! We watched Frankie fight in the S.C.A. events (he ended up placing 3rd out of 6 after some tie breakers). I think he did very well considering he's been fighting less than a year. Addison sat on my lap while we watching Frank fight-her play by play was accurate and hilarious. When Frank won 2 fights in a row she held up two little fingers, "2 he just won 2 right by each other". I think everyone knew Frank has family there-the Waterloo in me came out so I hollered and yelped for all I was worth. Addison and Jewel tried their hand at a golf display (Addison did very well-Jewel usually does, but I think she was cognizant of people watching her). Cannon was very enamored with the Ag Bus. display showing the compartive prices of household good and household incomes over the last 50 years-Jewel and Ashley just grabbed the free candy:)
Then, after we convinced Uncle Bill, it was a good idea for us to take Ashley (we will take Amber next year too-I just need to be more organized, but its hard to do that because I can't always gauge Cannon's moods). We walked ALL over campus, the girls played in "sand" (acutually it was recycled glass) and got "flowers" (pop cans recycled into flower adornments) Oh, Katie I hope its okay Ashley and Jewel got their pictures taken for the landscaping and design newsletter- Oopps forgot to ask-I gave permission for both girls to be photographed. The kids climbed all over the Ag's display of tractors and equipment. Cannon's eyes light up when he saw the "rocks and geodes" sign. He ended up purchasig a devil's toenail and a piece of petrified wood. The girls were wowed with all the "pretty crystals" and the kids looked through an display demonstrating long wave, short wave and infared light. Then we walked around the planetarium-but missed seeing the "show". The kids rode on a blue angle simulator. We played in a "mini work-out" park complete with benches and other work out equipment. We stopped for smoothies at a campus hot spot. We ended with watching the swans swim at Lake LaVerne-Ashley loved that. Next year if the weather is as brillant as this past years- we will bring more money, plan on having both girls for an overnight-I'm looking forward to it already.
Not like that hadn't been outside "enough" that day the girls played at the park by our house, then played dress up and sang along to Hannah Montana (a fav of both I discovered), then watched Wendy Wu before bed.
Sunday, after church, we treated ourselves to Hickory Park (ice cream and all!) -both girls ate really well, let the girls play a little and took Ashley back home. There the kids played some more, Katie, Alex and I went for a relaxing, but long walk. I completely loved having Ashley over-Jewel was in heaven. Cannon commented we could sure adopt her :). Oh VEISHA- Aunt Carolyn and fam stopped by to watch Frankie in action and we were blessed to spend some time with G'ma Rose and G'ma Kris. We must arrange for more sleepovers for the g irls. I feel so badly Jewel doesn't have a sister; I'm very close to my sister, but she has Ashley:)

A month to the day from my last blog. I'm sorry I've been terrible. Work, home, new program starting at church, and sick kids have kept me hopping.
My surgey went very well. Thanks for all the cards, phone calls, and my in-laws who took the kids for us for an overnight.
Thanks to Frankie for buying me Green Acres season 3 and catching me when I passed out at the hospital-he's amazing light on his feet. (I didn't completely go out this time I could hear voices:) ) I don't tolerate pain med very well and I was in quite a bit of pain at the time and tried to walk down the hall myself and "tough it out"-not such a good plan.
The kids looked great on Easter and we heard a terrific sermon at church. Lots of good candy from Mom (both children no longer believe in the Easter bunny in fact Jewel helped me create Cannon's basket. She was still awake at 11 P.M. so I couldn't stay awake any longer). We enjoyed good eats, a little out door play time for the children, and played fun games at Frank's aunt's house with her children, their children, G'ma Rose, G'ma Kris and auntie Sara!
The Saturday before Easter I made an "Easter" dinner since Frankie had to work on Easter so I felt badly for him. I made cheesy potatoes, bought a really nice ham (I made him cook this), yams with pineapple (but forgot Frankie likes brown sugar on them oopps!), and a new dessert-it tasted funky-Jewel helped me, but I don't think it was her I think it was me:) I made something else, but now I can't recall. Then we "forced" Jewel to watch Charlie Brown's "Its the Easter Beagle". She pitched a fit; then all of a sudden we heard giggles coming from the spot on the floor where she sat. Oh can it be? Yep, she loved it.
Okie.. more later
Smiles,
Jennifer.
P.S. Hey the main man will be fighting this Saturday for VEISHA with SCA on the main campus. COME AND CHEER HIM ON!!!
