Last night when I had insomnia I thought of all kinds of things to blog about, but now. NOt so much , but its me so I'll think of something to say...

Well, last Wednesday night after family devotations Jewel declared, "I want to be saved". So the conversation begins of what does being saved mean and do you really want to do it, etc. Jewel was adament. So in the morning when Frank got home from work he talked to Jewel and she prayed asking Jesus to forgive her of her sins and come into her heart and help her know right from wrong. When I first asked her why she wanted to be a Christians she said, "Because Jesus loves me very very much. His blood will wash away my sins" pretty cute I must say. So we are all very excited that Jewel had decided to declare Jesus her Saviour. Jewel was not as quick to come to this decision, but I must say that is the only thing I like about being Baptist- each person decides for themselves whether they want to believe in Jesus as Saviour or not and when they want to. Now a family friend asked her baptism date-well that is also up to Jewel. Baptism is a serious public commitment to Christ I only want her to go through this when she is fully ready to. So I am praising God that Jewel is my sister in the Lord!

Oh , my Paula Deen recipe for homestyle macaroni and cheese did not turn out. I'm going to make a few changes to the recipe (add more cheese) and try it again before I abandon the idea. I did everything exactly to the recipe(didn't try to make it low fat or ANYTHING!) and it still didn't turn out. The texture was good, just hardly any flavor at all. Jewel, Cannon and I love mac and cheese so I will keep trying (if its the last thing I do...).

I found out I'm allergic to Darvocet-tee hee. We had a Monday night adventure to the E.R. Was given Darvocet for a female issue and thank-you-very-much I'll suffer through rather than try meds of this caliber again (I'm a light weight I guess-no drinking and druggin for me).

I miss being the H.R. assist and enjoy not being the H.R. assist all at the same time.

Cannon is sick to his tummy again. I think he just has a sensitive stomach like me. I'm not sure what to do with that boy.

I printed Jeanette's and David's announcement from the paper- thanks for the heads up Sara. We will be enjoying a glorious wedding celebration in a week! Jewel, Cannon and I are very excited. I hope everything goes well (translation I hope I don't forget anything and my children do what they're suppose to do when they're suppose to do it and not get SICK!). They are both very excited! to help Jeanette and David celebrate, but Cannon often reminds me he feels "Like I'm still getting to know David because I've known Jeanette since I was a tiny baby". Cannon is an old soul I think.

My bro-in-law and sis-in-law received more pics of baby Alex, but no news on a pick/up date yet. STINKY! All in God's perfect time I know, but patience is not a virtue I've acquired yet.

Been teaching Sunday School again. I just started a few weeks ago. I have K-4th graders. I must say it's been tons of fun and yes, candy does still work as effective bribery in today's day and age.

My question is, "What foods comfort you?"

Ice cream and cheesecake seem to comfort me quite a bit and waffles.

Wow! I'm blogging two days in a row, do I get a sticker or something??? The nurse just called to inform me there are no "focal areas of abnormality" on C-man's MRI so YEAH Praise God! He simply has bad migraines, and must be naturally "uncoordinated" (he gets that from me) and a little off balance (he gets that from me too-tee hee). He continues taking his meds, his new PRN med and track them migraines. We'll see the doctor again in 2 months.
I have been very blessed this week to see "old" friends. God must have known I was feeling melancholy. My good friend Bridget, whose hubby was transferred to South Carolina 18 mos ago, was in church Sunday A.M. and then her children (who were friends with my children) Jewel and I went out to eat-a good time was had by all (except poor Cannon who had to stay at home due to illness). Then today, my former mentor and boss and now friend, Kim, who husband took a job in Minnesota (haven't seen her in 3.5 years!) brought her 2 youngest children for a visit to the office and we had a pot luck! I miss her SO much she is an amazing person and a terrific mentor for me. I haden't met her two youngest children yet.
Frank and I started watching the new Pink Panther movie- very good. A few inneudoes, but not too many. I don't think I'm spelling inneudo correctly.
Oopps! I'd better finish up working. Sara-you need to blog! Girly girl.
Smiles,
Jennifer

Thank you to everyone who prayed for Cannon.

Sorry its been so long since I blogged. We've been very busy at work and my children have been sick again (repeatedly) with a stomach bug.
Just wanted to say I woke up and started having one of those days, but I just kept repeating to myself, "Jesus loves me" that was the only thing that would make me smile.
Cannon did VERY well during his 40 min. MRI yesterday; hopefully we'll soon have the results and if anything atypical is found it will be easily cured/fixed. Probably nothing atypical will be found, but IF... Jewel, Cannon and I have continued our quest of watching old tv shows on dvd; last night we watched the Brady Bunch episodes where they go to the Grand Canyon, get locked in the ghost town, Ciny and Bobby get lost, meet the Native American boy who runs away, etc. CLASSIC television I tell ya. We also rented Who's the Boss-not as good as I remembered so we may not even finish watching the disc. Frank took a couple nights off from work so hopefully we will see him tonight (he likes to go to SCA on Wednesdays). I had a very basic understanding of Excel, but am teaching myself more- its been more fun than frustrating so far so hopefully... I quess I could ya know- read a book on Excel or directions, but nah for now I want to learn on my own. Tee hee we'll see.
The marital open house was fun for everyone I think- the brownies were good, the people were friendly, David and Jeanette looked good (go neon toenails! they rock) and Jewel and Cannon loved playing with David's nieces and nephews so I feel pretty good about that. I had prayed about it a lot and feel God was good and blessed it. I'm so excited for the wedding, but trying to not think about it too much- because then I will get overly excited or anxious, etc. But the dresses are beautiful the music and food sound perfect I'm just so pleased for both of them- they've worked very hard to make the day beautiful for everyone and deserve a good time.
RHUBARB! We are on a rhubarb kick at our house. Frank has made several batches of rhubarb crisp and I chose rhubarb crisp for my treat when Michelle took me out for my birthday (we even walked the trail from "the old days")-some of the most fun I'v had in FOREVER. I miss walking the trail with Michelle every day-we'd put the kids in the Burly cart and away we'd go-severl miles every day. I would look forward to those walks every day. We each just had one child so they both fit in the cart. Going for walks every day with a good friend and out in the weather (good or bad) was like super-charged Prozac for my soul.
More later...
Smiles!

Jewel baby goes to the ENT on July 07 to see if she will get a tonsillectomy-just wanted to update ya'll.
Very tired and very hungry today. On Tuesday I bought Jewel baby a sandbox and sand toys; the 1st we've ever owned. She has played in her new sand box every day and has done a good job of remembering to put the bricks on top of the lid so stray cats can't get into her box. The night she and I bought it; I haven't seen her that excited in a long time.
On Monday Frankie, both kids, my mother-in-law and I saw X-3. I prefer X -2, but everyone else loved X-3 (even though Jewel's eyes had to be covered or large portions of the movie and Cannon's a few of them). It was just fun to do something leisurely as a family.
Cannon had migraines on and off again all weekend so that was junky, but prayers are helping and he's gone 4 days with no migraines.
Frank made superb rhubarb crisp last night- it was wonderful, but both he and I love rhubarb. Cannon threw a fit about trying it (which is funny because he loves sweet and sour food) he finally tried it and LOVED it!
We have Jewel's dance recital all this weekend- full dress rehearsal tonight, performance Sat. and Sun. afternoons. Missy's baby will arrive Tuesday and next weekend we have Jeanette and David's shower we are helping to host so we are busy, all fun stuff, but we are busy. I got sick yesterday, but I think part of it was nerves and part of my autoimmune disorder- I'm trying so hard to not forget anything. I also have a lot of cleaning to do that I usually start on Thursdays and carrying into Saturday, but I didn't get started 'cuz I really felt junky.
That's all for today!
Jennifer
I hope Sara's tooth got fixed and that she feels all better for the wedding this weekend. Prayers for baby Alex's quick arrival from Guatemala.
