Sara, when ya gonna blog again??? If there was a contest for blogging- Ellen would win the gold medal.
Short posting today-very busy at work. The floor is completed! We just have to put the trim on and move all the furniture back. Thanks to Brian, Robbie, Bill and Katie for helping!!! We couldn't have done it without any of you. Frank is SO tired, but I'm so psyched about the floor.

Tomorrow is kindergarten "celebration" it's not called kindergarten graduation anymore. Wow! My Jewel baby will soon be a 1st grader. I've missed work for 2 Drs appts. this week, but I should still be okay to go.

When my father use to tell me the evils of eating while driving; I would think.. yada yada, but yesterday on the way into work I was eating a peanut butter and blackberry waffle sandwich when I started to choke. Yeah on the interstate with both kids, not good. I had to pull over and coughed for about 6 minutes straight. Did anyone know choking gives the person a sore throat?? My throat was sore for quite some time after this. So I vow to never eat a peanut butter waffle sandwich again while trying to drive, esp. with both kids in car with me and esp. on the interstate. I had to pull over to the side of the road 'cuz the tears were so strong I couldn't see well. Cannon was really worried. When I finally quit choking and could speak again (rather than squeak) I announced, "Alright thank you to which ever one of you prayed for me". Cannon grinned and said, "That was me". My little man is quite the stinker, but quite the prayer. His prayers are very sincere and eloquent. We've been reading part of his grandparents devo book, "Amazing Grace" about the origins of hymns and their authors-very cool. I would love to get the book for us at home (Jeanette-David would LOVE this book).

Okay, I gotta go help my man move furniture.

THANKS!!! again to: Brain W., Robbie D., Katie and Bill H! and of course, my my, Frankie!

New floor? I almost forgot the most exciting event that ,God willing, will happen this weekend. We have holes in our sub-flooring, but wonderful Frank, Brian W., and Rob D are going to put in new sub-flooring in out living room and fake wood flooring. I am so excited I can't even begin to explain. Bill and Katie are loaning us their van to transport plywood, etc. THANKS GUYS!
Anyhoo.. tried to watch the series finales of That 70's Show and Will and Grace even though I haven't watched either shows in years, but had to shut off both programs 'cuz they were both very offensive to me. I don't remember Will and Grace being that raunchy when it started years ago. Anyhoo.. Jewel and I watched Ambulance Girl which we'd rented.
Later..
Jewel baby has strep throat again! which she lovingly shared with me. We are not contagious anymore due to the wonders of Penicillin and Ceftin, but are both very tired and my throate is still sore. We see the Dr in 2 weeks to decide whether Jewel will get her tonsils out- the Dr suggested it since every 3-6 weeks she's been getting strep or something akin to it. My worry is her dance recital is the 2&3 of June and she is a flower girl in our good friends' wedding the 8th of July with a bridal shower in between, but maybe one of the grandmommies or aunties could care for her the day of the bridal shower then we could squeeze surgery in between. Besides, Jewel is younger than Cannon so it shouldn't take her the full two weeks to recover like it did for him (besides he is very stubborn and didn't drink what he was suppose to so he healed slower). Anyway... I quess I'd rather get the tonsils out otherwise our luck she'll get strep the weekend of one of these important events!.

Cannon ate much better this week. WOO HOO! However, I think Frank and I are going to gain more weight than Cannon is with all of these "snack times" happening. Speaking of which. I'm a little bit of a health nut so before last week there has never been "sugary" cereal in our house. We are having Cannon mix sugary cereals with healthier cereals-hoping to promote an increased consumption. Well I ate Count Chocula mixed with an oatmeal cereal- delicious! Has anyone else noticed the little marshmallow bats in Count Chocula really resemble the ghosts from Pac Man video game???? Maybe I was really tired or very hungry, but I truly think they are the same shape!

Better go eat lunch!

Today stretched on a like gum on the sidewalk on a summer's day stuck to the bottom of a tennis shoe. This morning at work I was terribly busy, afternoon was S-L-O-W now it's so busy again I'm afraid I won't get everything done. So.. I'm taking a moment to blog. Tee hee.
Everyone watch Grey's Anatomy's special 2 hour season finale tonight okay? Did anyone see the series finale of Malcom in the Middle? It was one last night, but we were at the grocery store and then making supper. If anyone who reads my blog saw the show, please tell Cannon what happened. He loved that show. The minister passed out a paragraph from a book he'd read. I want to share it all with you. It made me want to strive to be a better mom.

By John Killinger

I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God who was born of a promise to a virgin named Mary. I believe in the love Mary gave her Son, that caused her to follow Him in His ministry. I believe in the love of all mothers and its importance in the lives of the children they bare (or find their way to-my note). It is stronger than steel, softer than down, and more resilient than a green sapling on a hillside. It closes wounds, melts disappointments and enables the weakest child to stand tall and straight in the fields of adversity. I believe tht this love, even at its best is only a shadow of the love of God, a dark reflection of all that we can expect ofHim, both in this life and the next. And I believe that one of the most beautiful sights in the world is a mother who lets God's love flow through her to her child, blessing the world with the tenderness of her touch and the tears of her joy.

Katie- We pray for baby Alex every day. Waiting is difficult; isn't it? You are doing so well! handling all of this.

Oh my favorite quote for today (I won't post song lyrics like Sara did 'cuz I'm too lazy for that):

"If you travel alone, you can probably go faster. But the journey will never be as rewarding, and you probably won't be able to go as far" by John C. Maxwell

Oh the stability exercise ball. Frankie bought a stability ball for torso exercises or something-okay I think he really just thought they looked cool. He saved the exercise poster for me to work out with- well my coordination is about -10 points. I kept rolling off the thing. Frank read the directions to me and I tried to replicate the exercise, some I completed fairly well (the back of arm one-what a work out) but with most exercises I looked like something off of I Love Lucy. Oh well, I've heard 15 minutes of laughter is a good heart workout so it was a benefit. It was fun to exercise with something different than my tapes and weights because we gave up our gym membership in order to afford insurance on the "new" car. I do have a step for aerobics, but it's a little of a hassle to get out and set up so I don't use it much.

Oh my break time is OVER! Katie, Kris or Sara: What food item am I suppose to bring for Sunday?

Smiles,

Jennifer
Well Frank was home last night so it was really nice to see him. He even mowed the lawn! Sara Kim got straight A's this past semester! So we are very proud of her. Okay that's all I can think of today, but yesterday's blog was really, really long so I should be okay for today.

My husband and his mom are truly cute. So at VEISHA we watched the S.C.A. fights as we always do and the gal recruiting people for the group gave us a flyer. Well Frank just shrugged his shoulders and replied, "I don't have time". Out of nowhere (or maybe 'cuz his mom loves history and is crafty and her nephew in Omaha hada middle ages themed wedding we went to-very cool by the way) I commented, "You know who would really love going to that group with you? Your Mom." So last night, Frank and his mom decided to give the group a try- they recreate events and items from the Middle Ages. Frank reported he had a really good time and he thinks his Mom did too. Frank and his mom are just very cute together so I hope it is something fun they can do. I really hope Cannon and I can have that quality of a connection when he is grown.
I think Frank, the kids and I are going to try to go to a church here that has Saturday evening services so Frank can go to church sometimes. The kids and I will still attend our home church, but the other church has a more regular service on Saturday nights.
I found a bargain!! Did you all know Hy-Vee carries a lip balm with SPF identical to name brands, but Hy-Vee's lip balm is on 79 cents versus 146 cents? Wow! I'm so excited about my new find. (Yes I've almost become my mother, but I haven't blogged about buy one get one free yet-her favortie event of all time which us kids have decided we'll engrave"Buy one get one Free" on her tombstone).
As we drove down main street the other day Jewel declared, "Ya know what? I love spring". I thought that was cute.
For mother's day I got The Facts of Life on DVD (season 1 and 2!) which Jewel and I have been watching. The show came out on Tuesday so I got my present early. Jewel was trying to explain what the series was like to Frank when he started singng the theme song, "Oh Daddy how do you know that?" So I explained that Daddy was a closet Facts of Life lover. he he. I thought Cannon was going to have a cow! defending his father's disdain for this show. Very funny.
I tried white tea for the 1st time today-very good I highly recommend it.
Jewel's class had their poetry parade for moms this morning-very cute.
My aunt's twins turn 1 year old today. They are miracles and blessings from God. She and her husband struggled for many years trying for a family. The twins were preemies, but are doing amazingly well all things considered.
We got new pictures of my nephew in Guatemala-who gets cutier in each picture. I know God has a perfect plan so I'm trying not to spazz about him not being here yet. My sis-in-law stays calm about everything so if she's not anxious I'm trying not to be.
I've had two days of worries, but today is better. I thought someone I really cared about was mad at me, but I think its okay and some other stuff happened that was stressful, but I think I thought on it too much.
Later Gators!

Do any of you ever have one of those days where you just feel "off" (okay don't laugh. most days you all already think I'm "a little off", but I mean "off" even for me). I feel off today. My morning started around 4 A.M. woke up with a weird headache and couldn't go back to sleep. Lucky for me my gorgeous husband was awake and brought me tator tot casserole made with soy meat- DELICIOUS! and some milk to take an ibuprofen. Watched re-runs of The Nanny (one of Jewel's fav shows-it can be a bit baudy at times, but she doesn't get those innuendos yet) and Mad About You (which of course is one of my favs, but the rerun was an episode we own on disc, but Frankie and I watched it anyway because it was a good one). I feel some better today, but can tell I forgot to take my inahlers. So I am pumped about having more tator tot casserole for supper tonight.

I got to see the frame of my brother and sis-in-laws new house in Dunkerton- very cool. Hopefully the house completion will beat the arrival of Peterson number 3. My red-haired niece, Elizabeth, is a HOOT! She is so stubborn (which is such good pay backs for Ryan), but very smart (she makes that full toothed cheesy, yet adorable grin with scrunched up eye lids that Addison use to make). I loved hanging out with her. George tried to put a WWE sleeper hold on me, but I got away! Didn't get to talk ot George much because he was busy playing with the boys. I really noticed as I was talking to Grant his mannerism and conversation topics are getting so grown-up. He is studying the holocaust in social studies and carried on a very interesting conversation with me about that subject. Gretchen better watch out for this atheletic, blonde haired, tanned, blue eyed, very tall pre-teen boy because I think the girls will be calling.

Okay boring blog I know.

I forgot. One of my favorite Bible verses to go with George's wonderful announcement, Luke 15:10- There is much rejoicing in the presence of angels when one sinner repents.

Good Weekend. Other than Cannon's migraine Saturday afternoon it was a good weekend. The kids and I went to my hometown to celebrate my nephew's, Garrett, birthday. He turned 5 and WOW watching all of those 4,5, and 6 year old boys run around was a HOOT! Jewel was the only girl there (other than baby Elizabeth)so she took it upon herself to try to "organize" the boys. One little boy complained to me, "Hey lady, your daughter is bossing us around." My response, "Well some girls are so just ignore her". Then he ran off to play so my comment either made good sense or none at all. (Jewel is bossy-, but in a loving way :) ).

Joysous news on the homefront. My nephew, George, who is 6 years old asked Jesus to be his personal Lord and Saviour this past Thursday night. George has been asking questions for a month or so but my brother wanted to make sure George really understood the plan of salvation and not just, "going through the motions" so he'd been putting George off. Well, after Thursday supper prayers George asked questions again and simply told Ryan- he knew what he was talking about, he understood and wanted to ask Jesus to be his Saviour. The best decision a person can ever make in their life.
